Helsingborg
A new mobility hub designed for seamless transitions between public transport, cycling, walking, and shared electric cars.
In the first phase of Street Moves, glulam modules designed by LundbergDesign were tested on Södra Storgatan in Helsingborg. For Street Moves 2, the city of Helsingborg chose to explore a different location – Rektorsgatan.
The selected area on Rektorsgatan is a quiet section with bus stops on both sides, a bike lane, and parking spaces along the street. The goal was to create a new mobility hub enabling easy transitions between public transport, cycling, walking, and shared electric vehicles. Key features were integrated on the street, where Öresundskraft, Elonroad, and Move About collaborated to establish the world’s first electric carpool with wireless charging.
Architectural consultant Krook & Tjäder ↗ designed a space where mobility is enhanced with greenery. The new prototype was unveiled during H22.
