ArkDes is currently closed for refurbishment.
ArkDes is a national museum with a mission to expand knowledge and stimulate debate about the impact of architecture and design on our collective lives. ArkDes’ collection encompasses about four million drawings, models and other objects. Through exhibitions, installations and events at our home on Skeppsholmen, we document the past, present, and future of architecture and design in Sweden and beyond.
In addition to its role as a national museum and collection, ArkDes is a national authority with a mission from government to be a place of research about the future of Swedish cities. As a member of the Council for Sustainable Cities, ArkDes supports local authorities throughout Sweden in developing better places. It plays a pivotal role in aiding the creation of vibrant and sustainable towns and communities.
