Summer at ArkDes 2026

Welcome to ArkDes on Skeppsholmen in Stockholm, with free admission and activities for the whole family.

Skeppsholmen, in the heart of Stockholm, is one of the city’s most popular summer destinations. Here, architecture, design, art and nature come together in one place.

Explore ArkDes’ exhibitions, join a guided tour, discover The Rocks at Utsikten, or take a break in the garden at Café Blom. You can also visit Moderna Museet’s exhibitions or take a ride on Stockholm Slides, Carsten Höller’s acclaimed artwork featuring two spiral slides.

Utsikten: The Rocks

At Utsikten, ArkDes’ outdoor space for play and co-creation, a rock formation has emerged that encourages movement both vertically and horizontally. Discover the landscape by climbing, crawling and balancing.

The interaction between children and the landscape, and the fact that Skeppsholmen is an archipelago island, forms the starting point for this year’s installation, created by Byggstudio ↗. Founded by Hanna Nilsson and Sofia Østerhus, the studio works with art and landscape architecture in public spaces, with a particular focus on children and young people.

Opening of Utsikten: The Rocks

On 13 June, Utsikten reopens for the summer. Join us for the opening, featuring a picnic with lemonade and cinnamon buns. Come and play!

Saturday 13 June
Time: 13:00–15:00
The activity is free of charge and requires no advance booking.

Summer Activities at Utsikten

Wednesdays and Saturdays, 17 June–15 August (excluding Midsummer Day, 20 June)
