Utsikten: The Rocks

A rock formation has emerged at Utsikten that encourages movement both vertically and horizontally. Discover the landscape by climbing, crawling, or perhaps balancing.
The meeting between children and the landscape – and the fact that Skeppsholmen is an archipelago island – forms the starting point for the installation. Come and play!

About Utsikten and Byggstudio
Utsikten is ArkDes’s outdoor area for play and exploration on a full scale – a place where children and adults alike can play, discover, or simply be. The initiative is part of the museum’s long-term work to strengthen the important role that children and young people play in architecture and design.
In 2026, ArkDes invited Byggstudio to design Utsikten. Founded in 2006 by Hanna Nilsson and Sofia Østerhus, Byggstudio ↗ works with art and landscape architecture in public spaces, with a particular focus on children and young people.

“Children play with the landscape. The landscape plays with the children.”
