Join the opening of ‘Worldglimpsing’ on 3–5 October

On 3 October 2025, Worldglimpsing: Roleplay and the Design of Alternate Realities opens at ArkDes — a new exhibition where design meets embodied roleplay and worlding practices. Throughout the opening weekend, we invite you to conversations, tours, performances, and more.

How many worlds are you living in? On social media, in games, at work, or at home — every day we step into different versions of ourselves, in worlds created by and with others.

Worldglimpsing brings together experimental works that, through game simulations, digital environments, sculpture, sound, and video, explore roleplay and worlding as artistic and political acts. The works invite you to rehearse other identities, social structures, and future scenarios — and to challenge the boundaries of what design can be.

At the heart of the exhibition is OUR BR00D by OMSK Social Club ↗ – a guided roleplay debuting as part of Worldglimpsing. The collective operates in the space between art and roleplay, developing alternate realities that players can live within and act through. OUR BR00D is one of the most extensive roleplays commissioned by a museum. Within it, participants explore motherhood, community, and survival in an age of crisis.

This exhibition is produced in collaboration with Nieuwe Instituut ↗ and will be on view at ArkDes until 30 August 2026. Its second chapter will open at Nieuwe Instituut in Autumn 2026.
