Welcome to an afternoon where six interdisciplinary creative teams present their innovative ideas for creating long-term sustainable living environments in Norrbotten and Västerbotten.
In close collaboration with the municipalities of Boden, Gällivare, Kiruna, Luleå, Skellefteå, and Umeå, the teams have explored new solutions for future housing and communities as part of Visions in the North step 2.

Free half-day seminar at ArkDes and online. Pre-registration is required (link ↗) for both in-person and online participation. In-person spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The seminar is in Swedish.
Parking:
There are accessible parking spots available at Exercisplan outside ArkDes and Moderna Museet’s main entrances, as well as in front of the entrance to Moderna Museet from the seaside.
Elevators:
There are two elevators connecting the three public floors of Moderna Museet. The elevator doors open automatically.
Thresholds:
There are no obstructive thresholds at the Moderna Museet.
Storage facilities:
Lockers for outerwear and larger bags, as well as an unmanned cloakroom, are available adjacent to ArkDes and Moderna Museet’s foyer.
Restrooms:
Accessible restrooms are available on all three floors of the Moderna Museet, with door widths of 90 cm.
Wheelchairs:
Wheelchairs are available for loan at the reception located in ArkDes and Moderna Museet’s foyer. Please contact our hosts for assistance. The museum is on one level without thresholds and is designed for easy wheelchair access. Folding stools are available for loan in the exhibition halls.
Hearing Loop:
A hearing loop is available in the Auditorium. Set your hearing aid to ‘T’ mode
About Visions in the North step 2
Visions in the North step 2 is an initiative by the Council for Sustainable Cities, part of the Swedish Government’s effort to promote sustainable urban development. By inviting cultural and creative industries to explore and address concrete societal challenges in innovative ways, the initiative aims to create long-term sustainable living environments.
The initiative is supported by Boverket, ArkDes, the Swedish Energy Agency, Vinnova, and Formas, through the Council for Sustainable Cities, in collaboration with the municipalities of Kiruna, Gällivare, Boden, Luleå, Skellefteå, and Umeå.
