What is creative, sustainable and socially relevant design? Together with previous recipients of the Excellent Swedish Design award, ArkDes and Svensk Form ↗ invite you to an evening of conversation, reflection and hands-on making.
To mark the relaunch of the award, we reflect on the past and look ahead with former awardees. Guided by the award’s core values – Creative excellence (originality and innovation), Sustainability (economic, social and ecological), and Societal relevance (impact and long-term value) – we explore how the design field has changed since the award was established in 1983.
The evening begins with a panel discussion featuring previous recipients in conversation with Daniel Golling, Curator of Collections at ArkDes. Together, they reflect on what the awarded works meant at the time – and what they mean today. Afterwards, you are invited to respond creatively, using paper and pen to sketch out new ideas that reflect today’s challenges and possibilities.
