More and more people are using AI—primarily for analysing and generating text, but increasingly to create images and videos. In the near future, AI is expected to assist us in solving work-related challenges, delivering presentations, and even booking and paying for our holidays as personal AI assistants. But what does the development of AI mean for the field of design?
Join our panel discussion exploring AI’s role in design today. Is it a threat to the work of graphic designers and illustrators? How will generative AI impact production chains, circular design, and product development? And last but not least, what are fun and useful ways to work with AI?
Panelists:
- Tor Lindstrand, Senior Lecturer and head of the Master Program in Spatial Design at Konstfack, University of Arts, Craft and Design
- Björn Nordin, CEO, Svensk Form
- Sandra Nolgren, Managing Director, Svenska Tecknare
Following the panel discussion, we invite you to a hands-on workshop to explore what generative AI can do.
Workshop of the evening:
Jonas Johansson, designer and artist, will guide us through a workshop where we will experiment with recreating an image using AI. No prior experience is needed, though having a smartphone will be helpful.
Evening schedule:
17:30 Panel discussion
18:00 Workshop
19:00 End
Our new Design Bar explores contemporary challenges through design methods. Each session starts with a lecture or panel discussion, followed by a workshop for deeper engagement with the topic. The Design Bar initiative highlights the power of design in shaping a sustainable future. Alcohol-free beverages and light snacks will be available for purchase at Torget via Swish.
