Climate change is here – and with it comes growing pressure for preparedness and climate adaptation in the built environment. But who truly carries responsibility when cloudbursts strike, the ground floods, and property values are put at risk?
In collaboration with the Swedish Society for Town and Country Planning, we explore the role of planning in climate adaptation – from strategic political decisions to practical solutions in the built environment. How can risk, financing, responsibility, and design be integrated into planning processes? Which actors must work together to create long-term resilient cities, and how can this be achieved?
Through three short presentations and a panel discussion, we highlight examples of how properties and urban spaces can be prepared for extreme weather, and how climate resilience declarations might point the way towards a new standard.
