ArkDes is located on the island of Skeppsholmen in the middle of Stockholm. You can easily get here by public transport, bicycle, or by foot.

The Djurgården ferry runs throughout the year from Slussen, stopping at Skeppsholmen.

ArkDes is located a ten-minute walk from Kungsträdgården, and twenty minutes from T-Centralen or Gamla Stan. To reach it, walk past the Grand Hotel and Nationalmuseum on Blasieholmen, which is opposite the Royal Palace. After crossing the bridge to Skeppsholmen, continue up the hill. You will find the entrance to ArkDes and Moderna Museet on your left-hand side.
Bicycle parking is available outside the entrance of ArkDes.
General parking is available outside the seaside entrance of Moderna Museet. A parking fee applies. Parking for disabled persons is available outside the main entrances of both ArkDes and Moderna Museet, as well as by Moderna Museet’s entrance facing the water. Taxis are permitted to stop outside the main entrance.
Practical information before visiting the museum
During 2024, there is free admission to the museum’s exhibitions. There may be a charge for guided tours and programs.
We offer booked guided tours in the museum for school students and the general public.
It is not permitted to bring jackets, umbrellas or larger bags into the museum. There are lockers and unattended cloakrooms in the entrance via Moderna Museet.
It is not allowed to bring food and drinks into the exhibition halls. You can find information about ArkDes and Moderna Museet’s restaurants and cafés here.
Accessible restroom with a changing table is located inside the auditorium foyer and in Café Blom. The doors are 90 cm wide. Accessible restrooms are also available at Moderna Museet.
