An enchanted garden is emerging – a playground that invites you all day, every day.
Utsikten is ArkDes’s secret backyard on Skeppsholmen. In 2024, the shape of the space is led by the art, architecture, and design group MYCKET. Using traditional craft techniques, recycling, and natural materials MYCKET designs an enchanted garden that will grow and transform as children play and create throughout the summer.
Explore the place by yourself or take part in one of the free workshops held during the summer where you can create birdbaths, learn how to work with clay, invent imaginary log animals, and much more.
Update! Utsikten Closes for the Season.
Utsikten has gone into hibernation, a quiet garden awaiting the return of spring. The birds that bathed in the pond have headed to warmer lands, and the insects that buzzed between the flowers have sought shelter beneath the tree bark. The great troll has settled down into winter slumber, along with all of Utsikten.
A warm thank you to all the children who have played and created here, helping Utsikten blossom over the past half-year. We hope to welcome you, the troll, and all the life of Utsikten back in spring, when the world awakens anew.
About Utsikten
For several years, ArkDes has developed a method to elevate the creativity of children and young people through co-creation in architecture and design. Last year’s success, Bygg din lekplats, a pop-up play module at Utsikten and in Kungsträdgården, is followed up this year with a full playground and children’s co-creation becomes a permanent feature on Skeppsholmen. In 2024, Utsikten is designed by the art, architecture, and design group MYCKET.
MYCKET ↗ was founded in 2012 by artists, designers and architects Mariana Alves Silva, Dr. Katarina Bonnevier and Thérèse Kristiansson. They work with equality, social sustainability, and the more-than-human within art, design, architecture, and public spaces.
