Unboxing: How Sweden Was Built

Discover never-before-seen material from one of the world’s largest architecture collections together with ArkDes curators.

In Unboxing, we explore drawings, sketches, and photographs from the collection’s four million objects. Each week, new folders are brought out from the archives to be unpacked and examined together in the exhibition ArkDes Collection. Here, you can study the drawings up close, hear the stories behind them, and talk with the curators about architecture and design. What can a drawing really reveal, and how does an analogue photograph become digital?

Starting 30 October, Unboxing follows the same themes as the SVT series How Sweden Was Built ↗ (Så byggdes Sverige). Each week, materials from the collection are highlighted that reflect the week’s episode.

Note: The final Unboxing of the season will take place on 13 December. The last episode of the series, The Village (airing 18 December), will therefore not be reflected in ArkDes Unboxing.
