Report: Street Moves 2

ArkDes presents the second phase of the innovation project Street Moves, funded by Vinnova ↗.

Over the past two years, ‘Street Moves’ has pushed urban planning to the next level. By leveraging design, municipalities and design teams explore what future streetscapes could look like if cars weren’t the primary focus. The goal is to make every street in Sweden sustainable, healthy, and full of life.

The report compiles results and insights from six participating municipalities: Göteborg, Helsingborg, Umeå, Härnösand, Hultsfred, and Södertälje. Survey results show that 81% of respondents in Hultsfred, Härnösand, and Södertälje view the idea of transforming streets with temporary solutions like Street Moves positively.

The report also highlights the value municipalities place on Street Moves’ design processes. These methods engage residents in planning and evaluate what works in a specific location before committing to long-term changes.
