ArkDes is currently closed for refurbishment.
Utsikten is an outdoor space open all day, every day of the week. Here architects and designers create an installation for children and young people’s creativity. The first in a sequence of projects is by the art, architecture and design collective MYCKET.
Skeppsholmen is an ancient island of granite in the middle of Stockholm. Here, on its rocky peak, MYCKET creates a secret garden built from reused materials, clay, and plants, constructed using long-established craft and building techniques. It is a place for play and learning but also a portal to another time and possible imminent futures. This timeworn, tiny mountain has stories to tell – if we are willing to listen.
From the scale of a room to the planet, ArkDes believes that design can be experienced in many ways. In 2024, MYCKET invites you to experience and participate in a place for creativity and co-creation.
MYCKET was founded in 2012 by artists, designers and architects Mariana Alves Silva, Dr. Katarina Bonnevier and Thérèse Kristiansson. Based on equity and social sustainability they practice at all scales (art, furniture, performance, architecture, public space, spatial and urban planning) and are informed by the more-than-human, the carnivalesque, and queerness.
Utsikten hosts an outdoor installation that is open all day, every day. Created by leading architects and designers and reimagined every two years, it is a place for children and young people to explore how design can impact our lives, our communities, and our futures.
