How can design help us rethink the ways we relate to one another? At this evening’s Design Bar, we explore play and sport as spaces for collective imagination, experimentation, and social change.
The evening takes its point of departure in social design, a field that is still relatively underdeveloped in the Swedish design context. Our guest is Gabriel Fontana (Studio Gabriel Fontana), whose practice was at the centre of the Netherlands’ contribution to the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale.
Fontana shares insights from his work, in which he explores how design can be applied in new ways through play and experience. He will also guide us through Multiform, a team-based game that challenges traditional ideas of competition. By taking part, you will experience how norms are formed and renegotiated, and how sport can sharpen our awareness of how social relations function more broadly.
Since 2025 Multiform is part of MoMA’s permanent collection in New York and is the first alternative sport to be acquired by a major museum collection.
Come and play differently. The game is ours to reinvent.
