ArkDes launches a call on transforming industrial landscapes

Do you have an idea for how an industrial landscape can be given new life in the society of the future? ArkDes is now launching the call Reimagining Landscapes and invites interdisciplinary teams to explore how industrial sites that are no longer in use or are facing closure can be transformed through innovative design.

The call is aimed at teams of two to three people, including at least one architect or designer, who will define their own ideas for site-specific pre-studies. The focus is on exploring methods, design principles and future scenarios for how industrial landscapes in transition can be transformed and take on new roles in society. Particular emphasis is placed on the potential of design to work with existing conditions and the specific qualities of each site.

The results should be of national relevance and applicable to other locations facing similar challenges.

The call will fund three pre-studies, each with a research grant of SEK 300,000.
