The Einar Mattsson Foundation for Building and Real Estate Research
ArkDes manages the Einar Mattsson Foundation for Building and Real Estate Research.
The foundation (in Swedish called Einar Mattssons stiftelse för bygg- och fastighetsforskning) was established through a donation to mark the inauguration of the new exhibition hall that ArkDes moved into in 1998.
Its purpose is to support research in its field through an annual grant. Representatives to the foundation’s board are appointed by ArkDes and
the Stockholm Building Association ↗.
According to the letter of donation:
The foundation’s purpose is to support research in building and housing, for example by providing grants to architects, building engineers, or housing managers for study or research, in Sweden or abroad, in construction technology and property management. Where possible, it may also support reviews of municipal and national regulations and their impact on building and management practices.
