After being closed for a year, ArkDes is reopening its doors.

The museum’s exhibition halls have been redesigned by the architectural duo Arrhov Frick. The museum is also presenting an updated graphic identity, created by Axel von Friesen and Michael Evidon from the design studio A.M. With a new entrance, a new collection exhibition, and free admission throughout the fall, we look forward to welcoming all visitors back on September 27, 2024.

One of the major highlights of the autumn and winter season is the much-anticipated gingerbread house exhibition, now making its return after a year’s hiatus. For those of you who are eager to bake or just want to visit Sweden’s most fragrant exhibition, here are some practical details to keep in mind:

October 15:

  • Registration opens for everyone who wants to contribute to this year’s exhibition.
  • This year’s theme is announced.
  • The email address pepparkaka@arkdes.se is activated to respond to incoming questions.
  • But most importantly, it’s time to start baking!

November 20:

  • Registration closes for all bakers.

November 22-23:

  • Submission of gingerbread houses (all bakers have received a date and time to submit their house).

November 29:

  • Time to start voting for your favorite entry.

December 12:
