New open call! Commoning the Heritage: Norrahammar

A new open call is now open for application! ArkDes and the Municipality of Jönköping invite a transdisciplinary team to explore how the inherited environment can become a living part of the future.

The call focuses on the question: How can the workplaces and production environments of tomorrow be designed as Norrahammar’s old industrial area in Jönköping Municipality is developed and densified?

It invites transdisciplinary teams including at least one architect or designer, as well as one artist. Commoning The Heritage: Norrahammar aims to provide the Municipality of Jönköping with tools and knowledge about how culturally and historically valuable environments can be managed and developed, and the role that artistic practices and exploratory design processes can play in the early stages of urban development. Another key aim is to share the outcomes of the project with other municipalities facing similar conditions and opportunities.

The application is open until May 14, 2025, at 15:00.
