Utomhusverket 2022: Mira Bergh × Josefin Zachrisson

Swedish Girls ↗ is the alias of artist duo Mira Bergh and Josefin Zachrisson. They are based between Milan and Stockholm and work across objects and installations, with a conceptual and experimental approach. The idea of a collective practice came in the absence of context after graduating from Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm in 2019. Swedish Girls was co-founded with Matilda Ellow and Julia Jondell and has taken the shape of different collaborations across the years.

Utomhusverket was ArkDes’s annual summer outdoor installation between 2020 and 2022. Each commission sought to stitch the spaces of the museum to the streets of the city by way of a large-scale outdoor installation, creating a testing ground that makes room for architects and designers to imagine new possibilities for public life. Each iteration demonstrated the potential of inclusive and design-driven public space that enables individual and collective action in the heart of the city.
