On March 14th, WEIRD SENSATION FEELS GOOD: The World of ASMR—《感官怪奇:走進ASMR的世界》—opens at GATE33 Gallery in Hong Kong, coinciding with the city’s Art March 2025. The exhibition, which was first presented at ArkDes in 2020 and later in collaboration with London’s Design Museum between 2022 and 2023, explores the design story of an evolving internet movement through a series of forty immersive audio, visual, and tactile works.

The exhibition, which was awarded Exhibition Design of the Year ↗ by Dezeen in 2022, explores ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response): a physical sensation of deep calm and euphoria, often described as a “tingling” in the body. Across the internet, works of ASMR garner billions of views. This cultural movement has grown into a global phenomenon that is rooted in kindness, empathy, and self-care. In Hong Kong, the exhibition features newly commissioned works by sound artists AK Kan and Kin Lam that centre on local field recording practices.

The exhibition at GATE 33 Gallery / AIRSIDE ↗ in Hong Kong is open between March 14 and July 13, 2025 and is presented in collaboration with ArkDes and the Design Museum.
