Explore digitised objects from the ArkDes collection, with a focus on the 2025–2026 exhibition period and the theme Living Together.
Älgängeln is a piece of furniture that is part wardrobe, part bookshelf, but also functions as a room divider. Placed in the middle of the living room, it turns the newly built three-room flat at the Bo85 housing exhibition in Upplands Väsby in 1985 into a “seven-space home”.
Sometimes, all it takes is one original piece of furniture to break existing patterns and open up for something more individual. Shown here are housing projects that, in different ways, challenge conventions. A collective housing block built to make it easier for women to enter working life. A building with small flats for young people on a limited budget.
