For future cities to successfully combine densification with biodiversity and functioning ecosystems, new approaches to planning, design, and management are needed. Today, green environments are often treated as isolated features in the urban landscape—parks, courtyards, and green spaces are planned separately from other urban elements. But what happens if these are instead seen as an integrated part of the city’s typologies?<\/p>\n

This question was explored in the project Integrerade Gröna Typologier<\/em> (Integrated Green Typologies), carried out as part of ArkDes Open Call 2021, under the theme “Shared Spaces and Interspaces”.<\/p>\n

Warm in the Winter ↗<\/a> and Ekologigruppen ↗<\/a> collaborated to develop concrete design principles, processes, and tools to help municipalities and planners integrate ecosystem services at multiple scales. Using Åkersberga in Österåkers municipality ↗<\/a> as a case study, the project’s results are presented in a final report.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n
