How can we create sustainable housing in a short time while utilising existing resources and creating good quality living environments in the long term? This is the main question in the innovation project Visions in the North step 2.<\/p>\n

In Norrbotten and Västerbotten, some of the largest investments ever in green transition, technology and infrastructure are currently underway. The investment places great demands on more housing, attractive living environments and long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n

Through a call for proposals in the spring of 2024, the Council for Sustainable Cities selected Team Isspår<\/em> to explore the temporary permanent space of the ice rink in Luleå. How can we enhance the status of the ice rink and its surroundings as a modern cultural heritage all year round?<\/p>\n

Team Isspår<\/em> proposes new routes on the ice rink and shelters made of ice and snow to strengthen the identity of the ice rink and create Luleå Vintertorg. The proposal includes prototypes to test the long-term impact of widespread loads on the ice, the establishment of snow walls, the illumination of ice blocks and a new route on the ice. In addition, many of the team’s proposals are based on new ways of using internal knowledge and resources within the municipality’s administrations across administrative boundaries. Team Isspå<\/em>r’s inventory, analysis and proposals are summarised in a report consisting of a management and development plan.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n
