Street Moves is based on an inclusive design process where sketches are a central part of the working method. To find the best solutions, we need to visualize and discuss together.<\/p>\n

Sketches serve as a tool to analyze the results based on different needs and to continue developing design and features based on feedback.<\/p>\n

In the Street Move sketch archive, you can be inspired by other people’s ideas on how our shared street spaces could be used. In the archive you will find inspiration to start and visualize your design process. You can also find sketches from other cities’ processes with ideas and discussions that have formed the basis for the final design.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

LundbergDesign produced visualizations to examine the modules in direct relation to the streetscape. The sketches are similar to before and after pictures and were important to drive the ideas and dialogues forward.<\/i>\n <\/figcaption>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Through an inclusive design process, the needs of the neighborhood are analyzed. Then the street can be effectively changed without digging. Modules enable parking for micro-mobility while adding value to promote well-being, social interaction, greenery and culture. Through Street Moves, different functions can be tested for a more permanent transformation of the street. In the long term, the street will be transformed with more space for greenery and with greater adaptation to users’ needs. The street becomes healthier, more sustainable and more vibrant<\/p>\n

It integrates solutions for car sharing, electric scooters and charging infrastructure, but also the opportunity to stimulate social interaction, culture and greenery, thereby striving to achieve set sustainability goals. The result will be functional and attractive urban environments where mobility, housing, street life and biodiversity go hand in hand.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Street Moves can be about transforming a couple of parking lots or other street space into a community mini-park, or why not a small dance floor. The possibilities are endless and take place through inclusive processes where the residents of the neighborhood, young and old, claim the public space that is right outside the door. The result is places that people like and feel ownership of.<\/p>\n

Street Moves studies have shown that more greenery is a desirable feature of the streetscape, such as planters, urban greenery and trees, but also planting beds open to the public. With the help of Street Moves, more greenery and biodiversity can be integrated into the streetscape. One idea is to create interactive spaces for urban farming, while promoting social interaction and shared ownership.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

On Brahegatan in Gothenburg, the design agency Krook & Tjäder used the Street Moves module that LundbergDesign developed in 2019, and which has been on Grönsakstorget in Gothenburg since 2020. There was a lot of input in the Street Moves process – both businesses and residents on the street have provided comments that have been woven into the process. In addition, prepaid postcards were sent out to the area’s residents to get suggestions and thoughts. The result of the dialog showed that the residents want a green street with areas for residents to move, stay and play. Brahegatan was thus filled with triangular-shaped modules in wood and metal of varying heights where greenery, play and a safer street space were at the center. In addition to the nearly 30 modules, 28 nursery trees were also placed along the street.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

As in Gothenburg, Krook & Tjäder’s work on Rektorsgatan in Helsingborg was based on the LundbergDesign module, which has been tested on Södra storgatan in Helsingborg since 2020. Here, several actors were woven in to explore new designs for a shared mobility zone. Öresundskraft, Elonroad and Move About collaborated with the City of Helsingborg and Street Moves to create the world’s first electric car pool with wireless charging.
