The Council for Sustainable Cities together with Boden, Gällivare, Kiruna, Luleå, Skellefteå, and Umeå municipalities invite six interdisciplinary teams to collaborate in creating sustainable, beautiful and inclusive living environments, in short and long term. This Open Call marks the second step of the project ‘Visions in the North‘.<\/p>\n

Sustainable living environments are shaped by continuity, multiple perspectives and local knowledge. In Norrbotten and Västerbotten, some of the largest investments ever in green transition, technology and infrastructure are currently underway. This initiative imposes significant demands for more housing, attractive living environments, and long-term sustainability. How can we create sustainable places and housing in a short period while utilizing existing resources and establishing enduring high-quality living environments?<\/p>\n

‘Visions in the North step 2‘ is an independent part of the earlier ‘Visions: in the North‘, conducted in 2022. The call aims to explore and bring fresh perspectives into the urban development process, seeking new methods to formulate long-term management and development strategies. The call targets interdisciplinary teams of designers, architects, visual artists and other innovation actors to address specific locations in the municipalities.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n
