ArkDes, Formas and the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MCF) invite municipalities and regions to apply for funding in a call totalling 40 million SEK. Using architecture and design as tools, the projects will support local transitions towards climate neutrality and increased resilience, while also contributing to socially sustainable and attractive living environments.<\/p>\n

Society is facing several major challenges, including climate change, residential segregation, social exclusion and unequal public health. At the same time, the global security situation has deteriorated significantly, placing increased demands on preparedness and resilience in Sweden.<\/p>\n

These challenges point to a need to plan and design cities and communities that are resource-efficient and resilient, while also offering attractive and high-quality living environments for those who live and work in them. Municipalities and regions are key actors in addressing these challenges.<\/p>\n

Through the call Kommuner utformade för framtiden – klimatneutrala, robusta och socialt hållbara<\/em> (“Municipalities Designed for the Future – Climate-Neutral, Resilient and Socially Sustainable”), municipalities and regions are given the opportunity to strengthen their capacity to drive work on climate neutrality or increased resilience. The purpose of the call is to strengthen organisational capacity to lead local transitions towards climate-neutral, resilient, attractive and socially sustainable communities. The aim is to support projects that combine research with practical development work and deliver concrete results.<\/p>\n

The call is aimed at municipalities and regions with projects within two themes:<\/p>\n
