One of the museum’s latest acquisitions is from the architect Abelardo Gonzalez. Born in 1940 in Argentina, he relocated to Sweden in the late 1970s and has since been active as an architect and scenographer in Malmö.<\/p>\n

The acquired projects include the legendary nightclubs Trocadero (1979) and Tunneln (1987) in Malmö. Abelardo Gonzalez’s designs are distinct and brought a fresh perspective to the nightlife of Malmö, as well as to the Swedish architectural scene. The interior decor featured zebra patterns, mirrors, giant statues of Tutankhamun, and neon signs, representing an extreme variation of postmodernism. These nightclubs also became a sanctuary for those who previously felt excluded from Malmö’s nightlife scene.<\/p>\n

The collection includes drawings, sketches, and color photographs from about a dozen projects. Among these are illustrations by the architect and artist Maria Udriot, who frequently collaborated with Abelardo Gonzalez.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n
