What are we doing?

Together we are responsible for creating an experience that feels safe for both visitors and staff alike. We look forward to welcoming you!

The Swedish Public Health Agency’s recommendations are followed in all public areas, which allow for a limited number of people and call for a distance of about 1.5 metres between parties. The maximum number for a party is eight (8) people.

Café Blom

Café Blom has reduced its number of seats and maintains at least a one metre distance between both tables and parties. A maximum of four (4) people can sit in a company at a table. Eating or drinking while standing is not allowed.

The outdoor terrace is available to those who wish to sit outside.

Permanent Exhibition: Architecture in Sweden

The doors to the exhibition hall from the foyer are open for both entry and exit. The maximum number of people permitted in the hall at any one time is 20, and this number is controlled by a host.

Family ArkDes

The maximum number of people permitted in Family ArkDes at any one time is four (4) people, including children. You must remove your shoes upon entering, and food and drink is not allowed in the space.

The Library

The maximum number of visitors permitted on the lower level of the library is four (4) people at any one time. On the upper level it is one (1) person. For parties arriving together, two (2) people on the lower level are allowed, excluding staff. Face masks are available for visitors who do not have their own. You can always return borrowed books to the return box outside the library when the museum is open.

Opening Hours: Tuesday-Thursday, 10-17; Friday, 10-16; Saturday and Sunday, 12-16.

Research and Collections

A maximum of four (4) people, excluding staff, can be admitted at any one time to the research room. Access is subject to pre-booking. All surfaces are cleaned between sessions and protection (i.e. face masks, gloves) is provided to maintain hygiene.

Opening Hours: every other Thursday, 13-16. Please contact us for dates.

Other Responsibilities

All public areas of the museum are subject to extra cleaning during the days that the museum is open.

The staff that you meet in the museum will be wearing visors, and they are responsible for thoroughly washing their hands and following general hygiene advice.

We do not accept cash at the museum. It is possible to pay with a card at the shop, restaurant, and café.

What can you do?

ArkDes follows the directives issued by the Swedish Public Health Agency, Region Stockholm, and the Government. We encourage all visitors to follow the news for updates about the ongoing pandemic.

1. Stay at home if you are sick. If you feel healthy, we warmly welcome you to visit the museum. If you feel sick, we ask that you stay at home until you are completely healthy.

2. Keep your distance. Furthermore, we ask everyone to show consideration for their fellow visitors by keeping a distance of at least 1.5 metres from one another.

3. Wash your hands. Wash your hands often and feel free to use hand disinfectant.

4. Follow the Public Health Authority’s advice. We urge all visitors to follow the Swedish Public Health Agency’s advice to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

5. Travel safely. Remember to travel to Skeppsholmen in a safe way. We urge everyone to follow SL’s recommendation to not to travel on public transport. If you belong to a risk group, we encourage you to experience our digital content online.
