Bicycle
19 June - 5 October 2014
An exhibition about one of our best-loved design objects, as a passion, fashion accessory, lifestyle and means of transport.
The bicycle is not just an iconic object, but also a possible part of our future social planning. Everything from trends, new technology and ergonomics to social and cultural events reflected in the development of the bicycle. The exhibition follows a design history time line with more than 70 objects focusing on the evolution of the bicycle. There’s room for everything in the Bicycle exhibition.
We study, debate and activate the bicycle to create insights and generate new ideas for everyday cyclists, those interested in design, cycling activists and urban planners. Now, then and in the future.
There are a number of programme activities under way during the exhibition as a constant hub, giving you the chance to repair your bike, build a new one from scrapped parts, take part in a cycle race, watch films and learn how to cycle safely. There will also be seminars with leading Swedish and international players in the fields of design, research and urban planning.
