You and your special school class are warmly welcome to visit us at the Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design (ArkDes). We adapt our programme to your needs and your students’ capabilities.
We customise the programme to your needs and your students’ capabilities to ensure that you all get the most out of your visit. This may mean that you will be admitted to the museum before it opens so that your students can focus without distractions. Or that we divide up your visit into two sessions, offering you a preview of the museum layout so that everyone can feel safe and secure. Do you have your own ideas about how to structure your visit to us? You are most welcome to contact us so we can organise a structure that suits you and your students.
Times, prices and the number of students will vary depending on your needs.
Suggested programmes
Architecture x 5
Five sessions where we look at antiquity, the Middle Ages, how to build tall, sturdy buildings, architectural forms, and then finish with building a city.
Architectural shapes
We focus on the geometric shapes that exist in buildings. This includes drawing a building and cutting out the geometric shapes that we identify to make a collage.
Architecture and design
How do you build tall, sturdy buildings? We look at towers and truss structures and then build towers using artstraws and glue guns.
Experience architecture
We discover architecture through our senses by hitting the roof, calling out in the different rooms, and entering a secret room made of air. We construct a feeling that you can take home with you using colours in a room.
Please notify us of any changes or cancellations no later than three days before your booked guided tour. Otherwise you will be charged the full fee for the tour.
