Book launch: Stadsutveckling & design för motstridiga önskemål
Welcome to a book launch and discussion about the book Stadsutveckling & design för motstridiga önskemål (“Community Design for Conflicting Desires”).
Stadsutveckling & design för motstridiga önskemål contains the writing of 18 researchers and practitioners on the challenges Swedish municipalities face when developing socially sustainable societies. What is needed to ensure a democratic, fair and free society?
The built environment is a catalyst for conflict – a playing field where tensions between citizens and local governments are either reduced or escalated, depending on how they’re handled. At ArkDes on 27 May, project managers and writers share their experiences from case studies in different Swedish municipalities. There will also be a discussion about the way forward for democracy and social sustainability in urban development.
